Girl (Carmen) seduces boy (Jongikhaya), boy becomes completely
obsessed, girl leaves boy for another (Lulamile), boy in a
jealous rage kills her. What drives Carmen to destruction?
U-Carmen Khayelitsha is a feature film sung and spoken in
Xhosa, one of South Africa's eleven official languages.
Awards: U-Carmen eKhayelitsha was the winner of the Golden
Bear for Best Film at the 2005 Berlin International Film Festival
and was in official selection at the Cannes Film Festival
